After a few month absence we are now back blogging. We will try to keep you up to date as much as possible with any news and stories related to our Classic Swedish Interiors.

For those of you who can't make it to our showroom, here is a small taste of what is to be seen in our NEW Spring Look. This season we wanted to show the more Rustic side of Swedish interiors, the one seen in many old houses and castles in Sweden, perfectly illustrated in Classic Swedish Interiors, by Lars Sjoberg. Along this more Antique look, we are also launching our NEW Nordic Green paint colour (as seen below). Enjoy!

Something to put on your tray!

So you've got THE tray, all you need to do now is find the perfect tea cup and saucer to accompany you on your little morning break. Here's a sample of what's out there: Originally introduced in 1959, the Adam range was brought back in 2005 and is still avaiable from Gustavsberg

Do Brits use trays?...

It seems using trays is one of the Scandies' favourite hobbies. Not only do we have our individual breakfast tray but we like to dress one up with champagne glasses when receiving guests. It could be that there is a simple lack of original designs in the matter on this island. Here's an "avant-gout" of what could soon be introduced among you Brits. Grythyttans Gästgivaregården

This heavenly place is located North West of Stockholm for those of you who wish to experience the ultimate Swedish break. The interiors couldn't be more authentic and the surroundings beautiful. Here's a preview:

It's a perfect mix of classical Gustavian style (similar furniture can be found at Nordic Style in London) and colourful design from the 30's with the iconic patterns of Josef Frank. He once stated: "I have saved Swedish interior design". Maybe he did?...

If this hasn't convinced you, I wouldn't know what more to add...

High Road Brasserie

Located in the heart of Chiswick in West London, this place offers not only a stylish environment for a quick lunch or a fancy 3-course dinner, but you can also stay over in their next-door hotel, the High Road House.

I haven't had the chance to experience it myself but from these images you get a pretty good feel, one that makes you fairly envious of those who have!

Finally, one thing not to miss are the floor tiles in the ground floor restaurant, un vrai délice!

Happy Midsummer!

Oh I wish i could be by a lake in Sweden somewhere right now, drinking snaps and singing "Little frogs!" Yes, because that's what us Swedes do at this time of year, believe or not. With a garland on our heads made of freshly picked flowers from the surrounding gardens.

The tradition seems to tell that the young girls put a flower under their pillow and dream of their "Prince charmant".

At least, the frogs come back each year!

The traditional Ostindia collection from Rörstrand is a Swedish classic, a timeless beauty! It both brings back memories from one of my Grandma's home, yet again I would love to see it in my own cupboard. Le chic incarné!

At times you can find it at Nordic Style in Chelsea, London.

The Pergola collection is as timeless yet more contemporary. Keeping the beautiful and simple design it is as precious and gorgeous.

As always, I've saved the best to last! Mon Amie has now been re-invented in a mug and side plate version of its original sister from the 50's. It is pure genius and Marianne Westman who turned 80 last year can be proud of her contribution to Swedish design! It is especially close to my heart as this was the everyday coffee cups used at my other Grandma's home.

Why not put your flowers in their natural environment even in your home?...They'll certainly feel more in their element in a bit of grass. This might just be one of my own manias...but what could be nicer than a plain white, Scandinavian looking wooden bench? Perfect for that lovely country kitchen that I dream of. All you need to do is to style it and spice it up with some lovely bright cushions, this can suddenly give it a modern funky look!

Pulse is a great show for all sorts of accessories, whether it is gifts, jewellery or home decorations. Of course, my main aim at going there was to find new and innovative interior gadgets; items which haven't been used over and over again in Interior magazines; something different and bold. Brands from all over the world are represented there, among which Ittala who showcased their newly introduced their Satumetsä mug. Heavenly beautiful pattern and colours:

Yes it's been a little while since last time but here I'm back with more!

Today my thoughts have gone towards the constant enigma of why home offices are often left out in place for the living room or even the kitchen. For those with a slight interest in design or at least for those who pay attention to their surroundings, the decor in which we work seems to have an enormous impact on our productivity. I therefore thought it was time for some "home office" guidance!
The picture above is only a sample of what your "bureau" could look like. It is all about making it personal with objects and pieces of furniture that you love, which in turn creates a harmonious atmosphere for you to work in!

This is where I went to find it:

Desk: The Old Cinema in Chiswick. Unfortunately this piece has been sold already but they have plenty of similar pieces.

I found this stunning Waldemarsuddekrukan on Design Dish (Elle Decor's blog).

These beautiful flower-pots were designed by Prince Eugen in 1913 to stand beneath the portrait of Queen Sophia, his mother, in the living-room at Waldermarsudde, a museum house in Djurgården in Stockholm. Can't wait to visit it on my next trip to Stockholm!

London Design Week is such an exciting time for all Design lovers. The Chelsea Design Centre, normally very quiet, fills up with a constant buzz during the whole week. It is open to both retail and trade, and people from all over the world gather at this common "playground".

Spring is here...brighten up your home!

Why not bring Spring into your home by adding some splashes of colour?!
By just adding colourful textiles and accessories, le tour est joue! However, by keeping your main funriture plain and simple, you can just change it back to a more autumn or winter inspired room by altering the decorative accesories. Tulips in all colours are great for illuminating a room! Voila!
